Bose always try to position its products to the high end of the market, and Bose QuietComfort Earbuds 2 makes no exception. These wireless earbuds are expensive (almost 300$), but they have very little competition.

They sport an incredible noise cancellation system, and a wonderful sound overall. They are much smaller that the previous model and they are also improved in handling voice calling, with a better noise reduction.

They are pricey, yes, and they don’t support wireless charging. Also, no multipoint Bluetooth pairing. But apart from this, they are almost perfect.

Bose’s QuietComfort Earbuds are a big upgrade across the board on their predecessors.

They are smaller, lighter, more discreet and easier to fit and carry about. They have good controls, solid battery life and are stable and comfortable to wear for extended periods. They sound better with good, easy-listening audio and plenty of bass, though they still have Bose’s signature “clean” sound which can’t match the sonic highs of the very best available.

The most impressive bit is the noise cancelling: they set a new benchmark, reducing more unwanted noise than any other earbuds, including the troublesome higher ranges such as voices.

The fact that the company has not only managed to implement a successful redesign, but also push the envelope for noise-cancelling and sound quality simultaneously is truly impressive. If funds allow, the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II deserve to be heard.

Bose has made some incredible progress with the QuietComfort Earbuds 2 that are a country mile better than the first generation. The sound quality is tremendous, and the noise cancellation is industry-best.

The thorn in Bose’s side at the high asking price is the WF-1000XM4. Sony offers better battery life, more smart features, and support for more (and higher quality) audio codecs.

I have concerns about the long-term durability of the case, but most true wireless earbud charging cases have flimsy feeling hinges. The bottom line is this is a great choice for the budget-conscious consumer.

Sony nearly did it again. The company has dominated both over-ear and true wireless product categories for the last few years. It has a knack for creating a compelling combination of sound quality, noise cancelling performance, customization, and features. None of the competition comes close to what the WF-1000XM4 offers in terms of what the earbuds can do for you automatically with features like Adaptive Sound Control and Speak-to-Chat.

These are almost the complete package, if only the new ear tips offered a better fit. Even the best of the three pairs included in the box never felt truly comfortable. I only found relief when I grabbed the silicone tips from the M3 instead, and most people won’t have access to those. It seems so simple, but if you mess it up, a basic thing like ear tips can nearly ruin otherwise stellar earbuds.
