Learning how to use Paypal can be a useful investment. This popular online service is in fact one of the most efficient ways to manage money online, both for paying and for being paid.
Not all websites accept PayPal payments. Amazon, for example, doesn’t. But PayPay is extremely useful anyway.
In the next paragraphs, we will explain the detailed procedure by giving you the necessary information to learn how to use the famous online payment service. How to open an account on PayPal
Before getting to the heart of this tutorial and explaining how to use PayPal, it may be useful to know the procedure to register for the famous electronic payment service and create an online account. You can also check our complete guide on how to open a PayPal account.
To register on PayPal from a computer, connected to the official PayPal website, click on the Register button, choose the type of account you prefer among Personal account (allows you to make online purchases, send and receive money with the possibility of associating a card or a bank account) and Business Account (dedicated to those who have a business, to accept payments from all over the world at competitive rates) and press the Continue button.
In the new open page, enter your personal data using the fields Name, Surname, Email address, and Password and click on the Next button, then complete the registration by specifying the required data in the fields Address, City, ZIP code, Date of birth and Mobile number; affix the checkmark necessary to accept the conditions of use of PayPal and press the Accept and create account button to create your online account.
If, on the other hand, you prefer to register on PayPal from a smartphone or tablet using the PayPal app for Android and iOS devices, start the latter, tap on the option Do not have a PayPal account? Register and enter your phone number in the appropriate field.
Press, then, on the Continue button, enter the verification code that was sent to you via SMS in the appropriate field (or tap on the Ignore option, in order not to verify your phone number) and specify the required data in the Email address fields, Password, Nationality, Name, Surname, Date of birth and address.
Finally, affix the checkmark to accept the conditions of use of PayPal and press the Accept and create Account button, to complete the registration and open a PayPal account.
How to associate a card
After creating your account on PayPal, you can associate a credit or debit card of the Visa, Visa Electron, MasterCard, Maestro, American Express, Aura, and Discover circuits to it. How to do? I’ll explain it right away!
How to use prepaid Paypal
If you have a prepaid PayPal card activated before 9 May 2019 and you are wondering how to associate it with your PayPal account, all you have to do is access the Portfolio section of your account, select the Connect a card option and enter the PayPal card data in your possession in the fields Card number, Expiration, and Security code.
The procedure is almost identical even using the PayPal app for smartphones and tablets. After starting the application in question and logging into your account, tap on the gear wheel icon, select the Bank accounts and cards option, and, in the new screen that appears, press the + button. Then choose the Card item, enter the details of your PayPal card in the appropriate fields, and tap the Connect card button, to associate the card with your PayPal account.
If, however, you do not yet have a PayPal card and would like to activate one, unfortunately from 9 May 2019 it is no longer available for purchase.
How to use PayPal with a credit card
As mentioned above, any payment card (including credit cards ) of the Visa, Visa Electron, MasterCard, Maestro, American Express, Aura, and Discover circuits can be associated with your PayPal account.
To connect your credit card to PayPal from a computer, connected to the official PayPal website, log in to your account, and select the Wallet option. Then choose the item Connect a card, enter your card details in the fields Card number, Expiration and Security code, click on the Connect card button and you’re done.
From smartphones and tablets, instead, start the PayPal app, access your account, press the gear wheel icon located at the top right, and select the Bank accounts and cards option from the menu that opens. Press, then, on the + button located at the top right, select the Card item, and enter the card number in the appropriate field.
Finally, enter your card details in the MM / YY (with the month and year of expiry) and CVV (with the 3-digit code shown on the back of the card) fields and tap the Connect card button, to connect your credit card to PayPal.
It will be useful to know that, by connecting a payment card to your PayPal account, you can immediately use it to make online purchases and receive payments to your account. Despite this, there are limits to sending and transferring money which can only be removed by confirming the card (option not available using the PayPal app)
To do this through a browser, access the Wallet section of your account, select your credit card and choose the Confirm your card and Request code options, to receive (within 1-2 working days) a small charge (1.50 euro) on the bank account associated with the credit card.
After writing down the code sent together with the charge, access the PayPal wallet section again, select the credit card to be confirmed, enter the verification code in the appropriate field and press the Confirm button, to complete the verification and remove the limits of withdrawal and transfer of money imposed by PayPal for unverified payment cards.
How to use PayPal for online purchases
Do you want to use PayPal for online purchases? In this case, you will be happy to know that PayPal is accepted on the main online shopping sites, such as eBay or AliExpress, and can also be used to make payments via email.
How to pay with PayPal on eBay
To pay with PayPal on eBay, connect to eBay, write the name of the product you intend to buy in the Search for anything field, and click on the Search button, to display the search results.
Now, press the Buy it now button (or the Add to cart option if you intend to buy more items), put the checkmark next to the PayPal option, enter your account data in the Email address and Password fields and click on the Login button. Choose, therefore, whether to associate your account with your eBay account, by pressing the Remember me button, and click on the Confirm and pay button, to proceed with the payment and complete the purchase.
To pay with PayPal using the eBay app for Android and iOS, start the latter and if you have not yet done so, connect to your account. Access, then, to the advertisement of your interest, press the Buy it now button, tap on the item Select the payment option, and, in the Pay with the screen, affix the checkmark next to the PayPal option.
At this point, enter the details of your PayPal account in the Email address and Password fields, press the Login button and select the Remember me option, if you wish to connect PayPal to your eBay account. To complete the payment, tap on the Confirm and play button and you’re done.
How to pay with PayPal on Amazon
If you are wondering if it is possible to pay with PayPal on Amazon, you should know that it is not possible to do so using the PayPal account. However, when ordering, you can select payment by credit or debit card and enter the details of your PayPal card (which from 9 May 2019 is no longer available for purchase).
That said, to pay on Amazon with your PayPal card, connected to the famous online shopping site or start the app for Android and iOS devices, access the advert of your interest and press the Buy now button. Now, if a payment card is not yet associated with your Amazon account, enter the details of your PayPal card in the fields Cardholder, Card number and Expiration date and press the Add your card button.
If, on the other hand, you have already used a payment card to buy on Amazon, to add your PayPal card choose the Add a card option ( Add a new payment method if you are using the Amazon app), enter the data in the fields Holder card, card Number and expiration Date and selecting Add your card.
Now, press the Continue button, verify that the data shown on the Check and complete the order screen are correct, and press the Buy now button, to complete the purchase and pay with PayPal on Amazon.
How to pay with PayPal on Aliexpress
If your intention is to pay with PayPal on AliExpress, connected to the official AliExpress website or start its app for Android or iOS, log in to your account and locate the item you intend to buy.
Now, in the description of the product in question, find the Payment section, and make sure that the seller offers PayPal as a payment method. In this case, press the Buy now button and, if you have not already done so, specify the shipping data by entering them in the Contact name, Country/region, Street and house number, State, City, ZIP code, and Mobile number.
Press, then, on the Save and send to this address button and, in the Payment method section, put the checkmark next to the PayPal item, then select the Confirm and pay option, enter your account data in the Email address fields e Password and press the Login and Pay now buttons to connect PayPal to AliExpress and complete the payment. How to pay with PayPal via email
To pay with PayPal via email, connected to the official website of the service, log in to your account and press the Send option, visible on the main screen of your account.
In the Send money section, enter the email address of the recipient of your payment in the Name, email address, or mobile number field and click on the Next button. Then select the reason for the payment, choosing one of the options available between Sending money to a friend (there are no commissions if you use the PayPal balance or a bank account associated with your account) and Payment for goods and services (the commissions of payment are the responsibility of the seller).
Once this is done, enter the amount of money to be sent in the appropriate field, enter any message to be attached to the payment in the Add a message field and click on the Continue button. In the new screen that appears, put the checkmark next to the payment method to be used for sending money ( PayPal balance, bank account, or credit or debit card ) and press the Next and Send money now buttons, to pay with PayPal by email.
If, however, your intention is to send money via email using the PayPal app, start the latter, tap on the Send option located in the menu below and, in the new screen displayed, enter the person’s email address at which you intend to send money in the Name, email or mobile number field.
Then enter the amount of money to be sent in the appropriate field, tap the Next button, select the reason for payment, choose one of the options available between Family and friends and Goods and services, and press the Next button again.
On the How do you want to pay screen? , choose whether to use your PayPal balance, a payment card or a bank account associated with your account and tap on the Next button, then check that all the data entered in the Review and send money section are correct and press on the Send money option, to complete the payment by email.
How to use it in stores
How do you say? Are you wondering if it is possible to use this payment service in stores? In this case, you will be happy to know that the answer is yes, as long as you have a prepaid PayPal card (which can no longer be purchased starting from 9 May 2019) and that the point of sale of your interest is enabled for payments. electronic on the MasterCard circuit.
If this is your case, all you have to do is go to the checkout of the shop and, at the time of payment, take your PayPal card and insert it in the appropriate slot of the POS. Then enter the PIN code of the card using the device keyboard and press the green button to complete the payment.

How to use PayPal.Me
If your intention is to receive payments and you would like to understand how PayPal.Me is used, the service that allows you to receive money quickly and easily without providing your email address or phone number, all you have to do is access your account and create a personalized link to associate with your PayPal account.
To proceed from a computer, connected to the official site, log in to your account (if you have not already done so) and click on the Send and request option visible in the menu located at the top. In the newly opened page, select the Request tab and choose the option Create your PayPal.Me link.
If, on the other hand, you prefer to create your PayPal link, but using the app for Android or iOS, start the latter, log in to your account and select the Request option. In the new screen that appears, tap on Share your link to receive payments and press the Start button to create your personalized link.
Then enter the name to be displayed in the link in the Choose your link field, tap the Next button, and press the Accept and create link item, to accept the conditions of use of PayPal.Me and complete the creation of your personalized link.
Once this is done, all you have to do is send the newly created link to the people of your interest via email, SMS or any messaging application (eg WhatsApp, Telegram, etc.) or share the link in question on social networks or on your website, for any donations from your followers.
